Catholic Life
Teaching has an extraordinary moral depth and is one of the most excellent and creative human activities, for the teacher does not write on inanimate material but on the very spirit of human beings. The Catholic School on the Threshold of the Third Millennium

Here at St George’s our mission statement is inspired by Gospel values and we ensure that the young people at our school live out the gospel values in their daily lives.
We are outstanding in the quality of education and care extended to all members of the school community, but our specific mission is that young people grow in their faith in a safe, supportive and diverse community which respects British values.
The spiritual life of students is at the heart of Catholic schools. Its purpose is to support the spiritual development of the students and staff and to encourage everyone in the school community to live out their faith in their daily lives. St George’s is a community bound by faith, thus faith is to be nurtured and developed so that it can grow and flourish. We want the school to be a place where the living God in the person of Jesus Christ is encountered. St George’s is committed to ensuring the development of the ‘whole’ person, by investing in not only their knowledge within Religious Education, but also their own personal faith journey.
The role of the Chaplaincy at St George’s includes the following:
- To help the school to develop as a community of faith.
- To develop good relationships within and beyond the school community.
- To support and encourage student involvement in liturgy, prayer and the spiritual life of the school.
- To involve students and staff in fundraising for charities.
- To support the school in living out its mission statement.
