Take the Lead Workshop
This morning’s Take The Lead workshop offered students an engaging experience focused on building five key skills: communication, problem-solving, self-management, leadership, and self-belief. The workshop began with students rating themselves on these skills to set personal goals for growth. Through a mix of interactive activities, participants practiced essential elements of communication, such as using effective body language and adjusting tone of voice.
“Freeze frames” allowed students to capture and reflect on impactful moments, while elevator pitches taught them how to convey their ideas concisely. They shared their pitches with each other, creating a supportive environment to practice and receive feedback. The session was lively, inclusive, and engaging, offering plenty of opportunities for students to express their opinions and ideas. Additionally, hearing the facilitators’ career stories added an inspiring, real-world perspective, making the workshop both informative and motivating
